SitterCycle is thrilled to have Sharon Rief, founder of www.teacherresourcesforparents.com, as a guest contributor! Each week during April and May Sharon will feature a fun activity that you can whip up and the kids in your care will absolutely love.
The simplest activities are usually the most fun for kids and this DIY masking tape raceway is no exception. It will only take about twenty minutes to prepare, but will provide hours of fun for kids of all ages. And the great thing about masking tape is that it sticks to almost any surface and comes off easily with no residue. We hope you enjoy this as much as we did!
1) Masking tape
2) Your child’s favorite race cars
3) Some open space
Clear space from your floor and use your masking tape to start building your raceway.
Scatter the raceway with your child’s favorite cars and let the fun begin.
For a more elaborate raceway use the sofa, the stairs and even your coffee table. You can also add pit-stops along the way, such as parking garages and gas stations.
I love how inexpensive this activity is and the amount of joy it brings to kids is immeasurable.
