In October, an amazing thing happens for nannies. It is time for Nannypalooza! It’s a crazy name for a special event, made for nannies by nannies. Nannypalooza is a 2 day professional conference. There are workshops, opportunities to connect with other nannies, and more.
While there are other conferences for early childhood care professionals and even other conferences that include nannies, Nannypalooza is unique. We feature a “learn it today, use it tomorrow” philosophy that ensures our workshops are tailor made for working nannies. It is a laid back and fun environment, due to the fact that we know learning and play go hand in hand.
Many nannies ask me, “why would I want to go to a conference?” or they tell me, “I don’t know why I should spend the money to hear things I already know”. Well, here are 3 great reasons you should join us.
At Nannypalooza you will hear new ideas. You will reconnect with the passion that drew you into our profession. Or perhaps you will find it for the first time! You will meet other nannies who are the best caregivers and you will be challenged by ideas for presenters who are at the top of their profession. I guarantee that you will go back to work feeling refreshed and brimming with new ideas.
You probably spend most of your days without coworkers. Talking to a 3 year old is fantastic, but let’s face it – you might want a little more than that sometimes. Being in a room filled with 100 other people who understand exactly what your struggles and successes are on a day-to-day basis is empowering! You will make lifelong friends and colleagues who you can turn to for support and laughter.
As you continue on your professional pathway, you will need to demonstrate to future employers that you are growing as a caregiver. Attending this conference is a great way to demonstrate development as a professional caregiver, because it allows you to consolidate information that would otherwise take days or weeks of classes and workshops to learn in one short weekend. Listing the events you attend at this conference in your portfolio is an investment that will pay off when you are looking for new opportunities in the future, both as a nanny and in other fields. All employers want to hire someone who seeks out new information and challenges.
Visit the Nannypalooza website at www.nannypalooza.com and click on NP Conference Page for more details. Join us and share your story! CareAcademy.co will be around during lunch time; catch Helen to learn more about the certifications they offer.
