This week we spoke with Keyanna Barr (@TheSuperNanny on Twitter), a working nanny and leader of an online support group nicknamed the “Nanny Mafia”. Keyanna recently moved from her hometown of Columbia, MO to Washington DC. We talk to her about her experience transitioning from one nanny family to the next and her advice for nannies who are thinking about making a change.

Keyanna Barr is a newly transplanted nanny to the heart of Washington, D.C. whose hometown is Columbia, Missouri. 2013 marks her 6th year in the childcare industry as a full-time Nanny. She attended Southwestern Assemblies of God University where she studied Church Ministries & Christian Education. After a variety of jobs from Retail Sales to Human Resources Administration she found herself in the nanny world through an ad in her local newspaper and she hasn’t looked back since. Keyanna is very active on Twiiter & co-leads a group of nannies who have been affectionately dubbed the “Nanny Mafia”. Additionally she is an credentialed member of the International Nanny Association. While she considers Nannying to be her career and life’s work, she is most at home when surrounded by her niece, nephews, and godson.
